MY TERMINAL REPORT  DURING MY OJT IN EMCOR MAGSAY-DAVAO CITY

BACKGROUND OF THE COMPANY

                EMCOR stand for (Engineering Machinery Corporation) and it was started 48 years ago in Davao City as Engineering and Machinery Corp., a franchise dealer of International Harvester, by pioneering entrepreneur Jesus V. Del Rosario, who set up Kawasaki Motors (Phils.) Corp., K-Servico Trade, Inc., International Writing Systems Phils. Corp., International Elevator and Equipment, Inc., JVR Foundation and local units of Panasonic Group of Companies. They carry a wide array of product lines like Panasonic, JVC, Philips, Sony, Sharp, Samsung, Electrolux, La Germania, Whirlpool, FS Furniture, Sanyo, Canon, Brother, Epson, Toshiba, Acer, Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki and many others. We have also partnered with Western Union for our money transfer services. The core of our existence is our ability to provide high quality service to our customers by providing the right products at the right time, in the right place and at the right price. They also believe that as responsible members of our society, they should pursue our profit objectives in the spirit of service to the community. They believe in reconciling the profit motive of our Company with service to the nation. Thus, emcor strive to maintain a balance between the interests of our customers, employees, shareholders and the government by supporting national and local agenda for economic development, social reform, educational/scientific research, healthcare and environmental sanitation and preservation. To date, the JVR Foundation has given more than PhP200 Million in philanthropic work.

            Jesus V. Del Rosario founded EMCOR Inc. in 1958 originally under the name of Engineering and Machinery Corporation (EMCOR) as the franchise dealer of International Harvester (IH) in Mindanao with its base in Davao City.

               In 1976, it shifted its product lines to Kawasaki motorcycles and National-Panasonic appliances. Despite the change in product lines, the company retained the acronym "EMCOR" to take advantage of the popularity and goodwill the name had generated over the years.

              In 1979, EMCOR entered into a marketing agreement with National-Panasonic Philippines, Inc. The latter was the distributor of National-Panasonic household appliances and home convenience products manufactured by Precision Electronic Corporation.

            In 1992, the Advanced Technology Systems (ATS) Department was established to cater to the growing market of Information Technology Products.

           Today, EMCOR Inc. is a 100% Filipino Company whose primary business activity is in the retail of household appliances, IT products, motorcycles, furniture and money transfer. It has established a strong presence in the Philippines having more than 100 stores in the Mindanao, Visayas and Palawan islands.

 

 

 

 

 

 General Principles and Creeds

              The General Principles and Creeds of EMCOR are recited daily by its employees. It was written by its founder, Mr. Jesus V. Del Rosario as a guiding principle for the JVR Group of Companies.

Corporate Mission

              We recognize our responsibilities to our country, which is still underdeveloped. We must devote ourselves to the further development of the Philippines by providing our customers and the community we serve with quality products and services through our nationwide store network and by creating more job opportunities.

             To attain this objective, we dedicate ourselves to progress, to personal growth and development and to become a model company

Commitment to Service

            To become a progressive company, it is our responsibility to provide high standards of service for the best interest of our customers. Through these efforts therefore, we hope to contribute to the upliftment of the service standards of our industry and ultimately do our part in the task of nation building.

General Creed

           Our contribution to the progress and development of our country can be realized only through unity and cooperation of each and every member of the company. In this generation, a progressive company automatically becomes a social organization. It must reconcile the profit-motive with service to the nation. For this reason, all of us must keep this principle constantly in our minds as we devote ourselves to the welfare of our company and of the Philippines.

 The Seven Creeds

             As part of its efforts to promote outstanding customer service, the following are also recited daily

   Philippine Nationalism Through Industry

                    This is our main objective. Our main purpose is not only of financial gains or to impress others of our achievement. Our mission shall be to create job opportunities for a better standard of living and peace of mind.

·         Tuesday
Maturity And Understanding

                We shall work together in harmony with the spirit of cooperation. We shall be fair and just to all. For without maturity and understanding, we shall exist in the future confused and without direction.

·         Wednesday
Cooperation

              Alone we are weak; together we are strong. We shall work together as a family in mutual trust and confidence. We must be human to understand the problems of others. The more skilled and capable shall guide the apprentice, so that through this unity and understanding, we cannot fail.

·         Thursday
Achievement

               It will be our policy not to dominate the individual but rather to encourage trust and self confidence. And he must feel that through his own efforts, he has gained self-respect and satisfaction. Through this policy, the individual will feel his contribution to the true spirit of our daily creed and to the foundation of our main objective.

·         Friday
Common Courtesy

              If we are to be respected, we must respect the rights and ways of others. Also be cordial and modest. Let us praise and encourage freely, and in every opportunity, give comfort and understanding.

·         Saturday
Flexibility

              The development of the Philippines must be within the international standards of progress. But progress cannot be achieved unless we maintain flexibility to adapt with the ever-changing conditions prevailing around us.

Daily Creed on Self Respect
           First, we must be proud of our own self-respect and thankful for the freedom to enjoy our friendship with our fellowmen.

             Second, we are thankful that through this peaceful association, we can gain   knowledge, dedication and self-satisfaction.

           Third, that through this spirit of self-respect, we shall overcome all difficulties.

 MY DIARY

April 17, 2012

Dear diary,

               It is Tuesday. The day that I wish would come even do all of us who have feel nervous because it was our first day in the job training?  We don’t know if what we will do on that day. So when we arrive in the office I feel better. I forget that what I feel.

             At exactly 7am, we travel going to office where we assign. 7:30am we arrive in the office but are still close. I ask the guard if what time the EMCOR open; he said that at 8am must be the exact time to open. I also ask if there will be other OJT’s. He also said that there are two girls who come from Suriagao so it means we are four OJT’s for that branch.

            8:30am begin to prayer, exercise and follows a meeting. Sir Ong, the manager of the store who speaker for that day, he also welcome us for that company. After that we follow him to their room office. We introduce our selves to her and he also said her name with a serious face.

           Besides that, they will also tell us the names of all employees who are works for that branch. Who is the charge of the ATS, cashier, CI, salesperson and book keeper? He also tells the strategy, policies and founder of the EMCOR.

          After that, I and Nikki go to ma’am Christine, the book keeper who gives us the task. She gives us a files or papers that will us going to arrange it according to the series numbers. That’s all we do on that day!

Dear diary,

              I woke up early this morning. I was prepared my breakfast and also dress that I wearing for that day.

             I’m so disappointed for that day because all jeep passes by us have a lot of people. I’m fyerness all of us who are willing to arrive early were to last to ride.huhuhuhuhuh!

            It second day of job were late. I approach ma’am why were late. So she understand us ehmm…Ma’am very kind and virtuous! Beautiful pa! Double kc kmi!

            Ma’am Christine gives us other files. Same yesterday, arranged it according to the series number and separate the accounting which is color pink and the cashier which is yellow.

           In afternoon, we begin our work at exactly 1pm while we do our task sir Elmer, the charge of motorcycle, call us and give us a file which is invoice and we need to make it by deed of sale. He explain us what will we do.

          Oh, Noh! Something very nice happened! Each my first time to touch a typewriter.huhuhuhu! It’s funny! While I do my task ma’am Christine and Jannette laugh me because each only one fingers that I used to type it. huhuhuhu it’s very difficult to me. That’s all happen this day!

Dear diary,

               I’m very happy today I don’t know what happened. Perhaps I feel very cheerful. This time I early arrive in office but the office is still close so I wait until they open it.

              At exactly 8am ma’am Christine arrive. I’ll go inside to help clean the appliances. 8:45am, start praying, exercise and follow meeting about yesterday sale and how much the income of employees.

           For this day, I continue my task by doing deed of sale.

Dear diary,

                I got up early because my roommates were very noisy. So I prepared my things and take a bath and follow breakfast.

             Sir Elmer gives me another file so I need to finish that day.

              As usual, Geng2x, one of the OJT’s help me to type the invoice. She’s very expert in using a typewriter. I make also a ledger.

Dear diary,

              Oh, yes! It’s Saturday! The day that we wear any kinds of dress with related to formal attire. I wear my favorite long slave and pantaloon it’s simple but is nice to look and comfortable.

          This day I’m so confused because all employees were not early. I ask the guard, HE said that every Saturday it must be 9am open and others employees were day-off me.

        Same also in other day make a ledger and printing.

Dear diary,

                 Sunday turned out to be a wonderful day. No job, No travel and stay on the house. It was cold and chilly. I like to stay in bed on cold mornings. When I finally got up, I splashed some water on my face.

Dear diary,

               Monday each a wonderful day! I wish I would finish my task for this day early. So I could go early.

             8:45Am, we start praying, exercise and follow meeting led by ma’am Jeannette. Recite the policy, seven creeds of EMCOR.

            9:30, I begin my task by making a deed of sale and sales invoice. At 1pm I continue my job.

Dear diary,

               Tuesday again it was rainy day. I feel worry when I’m in a motorcycle. Imfeyerness the rain is very strong.

               This day I continue make ledger for the invoice and print it. I also help arranging files and scan the receipt of the western invoice to save in the documents.

               Thanks Allah was done our task. I am the happiest girl for I have everything I need and the love I have always longed for.

Dear diary,

                Oh, No! Each something happens today. Sir Elmer call us because there will be a wrong files we make. So make it change according to sir said.

                At 11am Kuya macky, one of the dicer, asked a permission if we are willing to contribute 15pesos to bought a fish for our lunch time. All us were agree for that.

             At afternoon, scan and encode. That’s all happened for this day! Thanks Allah!

                 It was Thursday happened, ma’am Christine assigned me to arranging the files and separates the accounting files. Printing sales invoice, receive telephone and fax stone.

Dear diary,

               This day there’s are many happened that I don’t expected it. During our meeting Sir Ronald Ong, the manager of store announces the machine that was left in yesterday. That time all employees and OJT’s shock because how they left? There’s a guard! Sir Ong, said that all employees will contribute except the employee who are day off that day.

              After that meeting, I’ll do my task on the CI staff to printing some ledger. 4:50pm I coudn’t find the files of Romy and Malao for the invoice.

April 29, 2012

Dear diary,

                 I woke up early to take a bath and prepared things that I would bring for office. It was Sunday, the last day of month in May.

                It is special day of one of my companion in OJT’s. She’s also my best friend and classmates. Her name is Nikki.

               The last day of Two OJT’s, name Geng2x and Kring2x. So in that case were celebrating the birthday girl and also the two OJT’s for their last.

              Sir John they must prepare video k music for all of was sing. He also brings microphone and list of music. Kring2x begin sing together of Sir John while I and Geng2x watch a movie. Nikki sings also and dance. I’m so very happy for this day.

             When the launch time come Sir John approach me to accompany to go NCCC to buy some foods that will going to eat for that day. I replied yes! While I wait Sir John I better look the best chicken that would go to buy. I select the best and big. After that, we go to the bakery; I expected that sir will buy a cake .huhuhuhu! He selects the cupcakes. hahahaha it’s funny I suppose that it is bigger cakes.  He said me that he doesn’t have enough money to buy.

              At exactly 12:25. We start eat, Sir Not led the prayer and Nikki blow the candle. All of were very happy. Sir John take us picture.

             After eating, we continue party by sing and take a picture. Ma’am Adora sing and also Sir Michael. All of us that day were 16. Other workers were day-off.  Thanks Allah was success. Hope will stay forever and ever.

                 It was a first day of May so I need to be good and blooming…jejejejejejejeje!  My Unforgettable moment in my task, me and Nikki were separate the carbon and papers….huhuhu it’s a lot of carbon meaning my hands very dirty because of carbon. After that, ma’am Jeanette, assigned me to CI office to arranging the files and separate the CTFS and EMCOR files.

                Something happened today because there will a new OJT’s come. It was my schoolmates in USM. Her course is Accountancy and member also in writing papers in our University. I’m happy because I have more companions. Thanks Allah!

                 These are happened today. Arranging files for Commercial Trade Financial Service and remove paper. I also scan and receive of the western Union. Happy moment. That’s all! Thanks Allah for trusting me!

                 I’m very happy today! At 8:45 we start praying, exercise and follow meeting and discuss the income. After that all of us were disseminate, everyone will go to their assign area.                  My task this day is same also yesterday, continue make a deed of sale. I’m very happy because Sir Elmer appreciates my work I done. He said very nice and clean. 1pm we go to NCCC mall together Nikki, I, and Joselito to saw the products of EMCOR will display.

                Saturday it was also a nice and wonderful day for me because I can wear any kinds of dress that is also a formal. This day I’m happy because we assign to NCCC Mall. We help ma’am Greece to sales talk to other customers and entertain them. It’s funny because all girls will saw Nikki said that it is “Karne”huhuhuhu! 2mboy kc.hhhheheheheh!

Dear diary,

                  There’s a lot of moment happen today. We’re very excited, but it also lonely because it was our last day, on the job training. We will mess our Sir and Ma’am Christine and all employees.

                At exactly 7pm, Ma’am Greece and Sir John treat us to dinner at the back of people’s park. After that, we tour us to the park and every view we take us a picture, sometimes single and sometimes all of us. I’m so very happy because it was my first time to saw something that I couldn’t saw in my place. Thanks Allah for this wonderful day in my life!
